The XP9500iH is DuroMax's dual-fuel inverter in the 9,500 W class, listed on its spec page as “RV Ready: Yes” and “Home Backup Ready: Yes”, with 120/240 V output, a remote control for remote start and a five-year warranty. The tri-fuel XP9500iHT is a separate model. This card stands in for the XP9000iH, whose maker URL now leads to a dead page. Dry weight is 216 lb.

Running vs starting watts

DuroMax lists 7,600 “Running Wattage” and 9,500 “Peak Wattage” on gasoline, and 7,200 running and 9,025 peak on propane. The 9,500 W in the name is the peak figure, there only while a motor starts; continuous loads must fit under the running figure. On its own it can start a 1/2 HP well pump, a 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner or a 7-1/4 in circular saw on either fuel.

Run time

On the 7.1-gallon gasoline tank DuroMax publishes 21 hours at 25 % load and 11 hours at 50 % load. DuroMax also gives propane run time by tank size:

  • 25 % load: 19 h (40 lb tank), 28.5 h (60 lb), 47.5 h (100 lb)
  • 50 % load: 10 h (40 lb), 15 h (60 lb), 20.25 h (100 lb)

We show those points only and do not extrapolate. It is an inverter generator, and DuroMax lists total harmonic distortion under 3%, the figure that matters for electronics.

Safety

CO Alert automatically shuts the generator down when it detects harmful fumes (spec row “CO Sensor Shutdown: Yes”). That reduces the risk but does not make indoor, garage or porch use safe: CPSC's outdoor-only rule still applies. Our CPSC recall search found no DuroMax recalls.

Frequently asked questions

Can the DuroMax XP9500iH run a well pump or an RV air conditioner?
By the figures we hold, yes, on either fuel: its starting watts (9,500 gasoline, 9,025 propane) exceed the starting figures of our 1/2 HP well pump and 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner. Check combined loads in the calculator.
Is the XP9500iH RV-ready?
DuroMax lists “RV Ready: Yes”. Its outlets are four 5-20R, an L14-30R and a 14-50R, with no TT-30R; a 30 A RV with a TT-30P plug needs an adapter.
Is the XP9500iH CARB compliant?
No. DuroMax lists “CARB Certified: No” and “50 State Compliant: No”.
Can two be paralleled?
DuroMax does not publish parallel capability for this model.
How loud is the XP9500iH?
DuroMax prints “61 dB” at 25 % load with no A-weighting or distance, so it cannot be compared with dBA ratings taken at a stated distance.
