Honda sells the EU7000iS as “perfect for home back up power, RVs, outdoor events, and more”. It is the largest of the three Honda inverters on this site and the only one with 120/240 V output, electric start and wireless start/stop through the Honda My Generator app. It is sold as the EU7000ISNAN (49 states) and EU7000iSNAC (50 states, CARB). It has a fuel-injected GX390 engine and weighs 263.2 lb dry by the spec table.

Running vs starting watts

Honda's spec table rates it at 5,500 W rated (running) and 7,000 W maximum (starting). Honda's April 2025 news release calls 7,000 W “rated power”; we follow the spec table, because the 7,000 W figure is the maximum, available only while a motor starts. On its own it can start a 7-1/4 in circular saw, a chest freezer or a 1/2 HP sump pump. It cannot start our 1/2 HP well pump (7,056 W starting).

Run time

Honda publishes 6.4 hours at rated load and 16 hours at 1/4 load on the 5.1-gallon tank. We show those points only and do not extrapolate. It is an inverter generator; Honda describes “stable, clean power”, without a harmonic-distortion figure on the page we read.

Safety

CO-MINDER, per Honda, “automatically shuts down the generator before detected CO levels near the generator become dangerously high”. That reduces the risk but does not make indoor use safe: CPSC's outdoor-only rule applies.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Honda EU7000iS run a well pump or an RV air conditioner?
Not our representative units: the starting figures of our 1/2 HP well pump (7,056 W) and 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner (7,560 W) are above its 7,000 W maximum. The well pump misses by a small margin, and starting draw differs between models, so enter your own pump's or AC's figure in the calculator.
Is the EU7000iS RV-ready (TT-30R)?
Honda lists a 30 A 125 V locking outlet, a 30 A 125/250 V locking outlet and two 20 A GFCI duplexes, not a TT-30R; an RV's 30 A plug needs a matching adapter.
Is the EU7000iS CARB compliant?
Only the EU7000iSNAC version. The EU7000ISNAN is the 49-state version.
Can two EU7000iS generators be paralleled?
Yes. Honda says two identical models can be paralleled with an optional kit for up to 14,000 W.
How loud is the EU7000iS?
Honda lists 58 dB(A) at rated load and 52 dB(A) at 1/4 load, with no measuring distance.
