Honda calls the EU3200i “ideal for RVs, outdoor events, home back up power, and much more”. It is sold as the EU3200IAN (49 states) and the EU3200IAC (50 states, CARB); output figures are the same. Unlike the smaller EU2200i, it has a fuel-injected GX130 engine and a 30 A locking outlet; it still starts by recoil only, and the Honda app can switch it off remotely but not start it. It weighs 59.1 lb dry.

Running vs starting watts

Honda rates it at 2,600 W rated (running) and 3,200 W maximum (starting). The 3,200 in the name is the maximum, available only while a motor starts; continuous loads must stay under 2,600 W. On its own it can start a French-door refrigerator or a 1/2 HP sump pump and run a 1,100 W microwave. It cannot start our 7-1/4 in circular saw (3,600 W starting).

Run time

Honda publishes 3.3 hours at rated load and 8.6 hours at 1/4 load on the 1.2-gallon tank. We show those points only and do not extrapolate. It is an inverter generator; Honda describes “home-outlet quality power for sensitive electronics”, without a harmonic-distortion figure on the page we read.

Safety

CO-MINDER is “designed to automatically shut down the generator if it detects carbon monoxide gas reaching unsafe levels”. That reduces the risk but does not make indoor, garage or porch use safe: CPSC's outdoor-only rule still applies. Our CPSC recall search found no recall for the EU3200i.

Frequently asked questions

Can the Honda EU3200i run an RV air conditioner?
Honda lists an “RV Air Conditioner (up to 13500 BTU)” among its applications. Our representative 13,500 BTU unit, the Coleman-Mach 10, has a published starting figure of 7,560 W, above the EU3200i's 3,200 W maximum, so the calculator answers “no” for that unit. Starting draw differs between AC models; enter the figure from your own AC's data plate in the calculator.
Can it run a well pump?
Not our 1/2 HP well pump: its 7,056 W starting figure is above the EU3200i's 3,200 W maximum.
Is the EU3200i RV-ready (TT-30R)?
Honda lists a 30 A 125 V locking outlet and a 20 A 125 V duplex, not a TT-30R; connecting an RV's 30 A plug needs a matching adapter.
Is the EU3200i CARB compliant?
Only the EU3200IAC (50-state) version. The EU3200IAN is the 49-state version.
Can two EU3200i generators be paralleled?
Yes, with an optional parallel kit and a second EU3200i, for 6,400 W total per Honda's launch release.
