Westinghouse sells the WGen7500DFc as “a backup power source at home” and lists it as “Ideal for Home Backup”, with an L14-30R outlet that is transfer-switch ready. It is the dual-fuel version with a CO sensor; the gasoline-only WGen7500c and the earlier WGen7500DF without a CO sensor are different products. Next to the WGen9500DFc it has a smaller engine (420 cc against 457 cc), no 14-50R outlet and lower output, on the same 6.6-gallon tank. The page is live but not in Westinghouse's catalog, and it showed the model as unavailable for online purchase on the day we read it.

Running vs starting watts

Gasoline: 7,500 running and 9,500 peak watts. Propane: 6,750 running and 8,550 peak. The 9,500 W headline is the peak figure, there only while a motor starts; continuous loads must fit under the running figure. On its own it can start a 1/2 HP well pump, a 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner or a French-door refrigerator on either fuel; for combined loads use the largest-motor rule.

Run time

Westinghouse publishes 11 hours at 25 % load on the 6.6-gallon gasoline tank and 8 hours at 25 % load on propane; the description ties the propane figure to a 20 lb tank. No 50 % figure is published. We show those points only and do not extrapolate. It is a conventional generator, not an inverter: output frequency follows engine speed, and the description gives no harmonic-distortion figure, so check the owner's manual before connecting sensitive electronics.

Safety

Westinghouse describes “a carbon monoxide (CO) sensor with automatic shutdown”. The sensor reduces the risk; it does not make indoor, garage or porch use safe, and CPSC's outdoor-only rule still applies. Our CPSC recall search found no recall for this model.

Frequently asked questions

Can the WGen7500DFc run a well pump or an RV air conditioner?
By the figures we hold, yes, one at a time: its starting watts (9,500 gasoline, 8,550 propane) exceed the starting figures of our 1/2 HP well pump and 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner. Check your own pump or AC in the calculator.
Is the WGen7500DFc RV-ready (TT-30R)?
No. Westinghouse's spec table says “RV Ready: No”; the outlets are two 5-20R duplexes, an L14-30R and two USB ports, with no TT-30R or 14-50R.
Is the WGen7500DFc CARB compliant?
The page contradicts itself: the spec table says “CARB Compliant: No”, while the product tags include “CARB Compliant”. We follow the spec table; in California, confirm with Westinghouse.
Can two be paralleled?
Westinghouse does not publish parallel capability for this model on the page we read.
How loud is it?
Westinghouse prints 72 dBA with no measuring distance, so the figure cannot be compared with ratings taken at a stated distance.
