How many watts does an LED work light use — and what can run it?
A 3,000-lumen plug-in LED work light (Feit WORK3000XLPLUG) uses 30 W. Which power stations run it, and for how many hours.
The representative light is Feit Electric's WORK3000XLPLUG, a 3,000-lumen plug-in LED work light. Feit's spec sheet lists 30 W of energy use at 120 V; that is the running figure.
What changes the draw
An LED work light draws a steady wattage while it is on. The variables are how many lights and for how long; the page assumes one light for 8 hours, 240 Wh. Older halogen work lights are a different load entirely: the Champion chart lists a 500 W halogen work light against 15–25 W for an LED light of 100 W equivalent.
No starting surge
There is no motor and no starting figure, and the Champion chart lists both LED and halogen work lights among loads that need no extra starting watts. Every station on the site with an AC outlet covers 30 W continuous, so the question is only how long.
Reading the tables
Runtime is for one light at 30 W with nothing else connected. Example: the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus record has no maker factor, so the default 0.85 applies: 286 Wh × 0.85 ÷ 30 W = 8.1 hours — about one full work night from a small station. Two lights halve it. On a generator, a 30 W light is a small fraction of any model's rated output; the generator table shows the load percentage.
Power stations that can run it
Pass = continuous output ≥ 30 W. Runtime = capacity × maker's factor ÷ 30 W, nothing else plugged in. Method.
